Masked Singaporean Sailors Sing Patriotic Song in Front of Naval Ship

Members of Singapore’s Navy belted out a night time rendition of one of the country’s patriotic tunes while wearing masks to protect from the coronavirus (COVID-19).

This video shows the crew of the RSS Intrepid singing “Home,” a song written by local composer Dick Lee. The song has previously been selected as Singapore’s National Day Parade Theme Song.

The song opens:

“Whenever I am feeling low
I look around me and I know
There’s a place that will stay within me
Wherever I may choose to go
I will always recall the city
Know every street and shore
Sail down that river which brings us life
Winding through my Singapore”

Singapore has seen an upsurge in cases after initially appearing to weather the outbreak there. Recent data indicates a large number of new infections have occurred among foreign workers housed in dormitories. Credit: Republic of Singapore Navy via Storyful
