'Masked Singer US' takes bonkers to a whole new level with latest reveal
Watch: The Masked Singer US has a crazy reveal
From politicians to Grammy winners and Chaka Khan herself, The Masked Singer frequently delivers surprising reveals – but the US version of the show truly outdid itself this week.
The Masked Singer US has just returned to screens and Wednesday night saw the fifth season begin on Fox.
Five characters performed for the judges – Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger – before one unfortunately had to be the first to leave the contest.

As the hat was taken off the giant snail character, the first celebrity to be unmasked was revealed as… Kermit the Frog.
When the snail’s headwear was removed, it initially appeared as if nobody was in the costume, leaving host Neicy Nash visibly shocked and confused.
Kermit then popped up, which naturally prompted shrieks from everyone in the studio, while fans erupted on social media:

So if Kermit the Frog can be a contestant on a game show... what does this mean for the rest of the Muppets?
Can Miss Piggy get cast in a movie?
Can we get an Electric Mayhem tour?
Actually yes please to both of those.— Muppet History (@HistoryMuppet) March 11, 2021

As if that wasn’t weird enough, Kermit offered some thoughts on leaving the contest, stating: “It's not easy being green, but sometimes it's even harder being a snail.
“I’m never gonna hear the end of this from Miss Piggy.”
His one and only performance as Snail saw Kermit belt out You Make My Dreams by Hall & Oates.
Unsurprisingly, the panellists did not come close to figuring out the character’s identity, with their guesses instead including Jay Leno and Seth MacFarlane.
The Masked Singer has become a global sensation in recent years, with versions being filmed in countries including the States China, Germany and Mexico.
The format originated in South Korea and a spin-off, The Masked Dancer – which sees mystery celebrities busting a move instead of singing – will also arrive on ITV later this year.
The judging panel for the UK version will consist of Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and a new addition, Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse.
