Book is Kevin Hart
This book refused to be bound, tearing off his own costume after his first performance during the Masked Singer season 11 premiere. Book was revealed to be comedian Kevin Hart in one of the most surprising reveals in the show's history. Turns out, Hart was there to play a practical joke on his Celebrity Prank Wars cohost Nick Cannon. "I got you, Nick!" Hart said. "It's a prank, you had no idea I was coming here, Nick. And guess what, Nick? There's nothing you can do about it." Cannon laughed and said, "That’s so stupid! That was the worst performance ever on the history of the show."
Afghan Hound is Savannah Chrisley
The second episode of The Masked Singer season 11 was Wizard of Oz-themed and featured the reveal of another contestant whose vocals left a lot to be desired. The Afghan Hound may have sounded a little pitchy, dog, but her joyful energy more than made up for it. She was revealed to be reality TV personality Savannah Chrisley, daughter of Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who are both in prison. Savannah revealed to EW that her parents would be watching from behind bars. "They're going to die laughing," she said. "My father's going to be like, please don't ever sing again. Because out of our family, he is the only one with any musical abilities."
Spaghetti & Meatballs is Joe Bastianich
Mamma mia, the competition is spicy! Episode 3 of The Masked Singer season 11 was Billy Joel-themed and a new group of contestants showed off their impressive pipes to take on the Piano Man's greatest works. In the end, Spaghetti & Meatballs was cooked by the competition. He was eliminated and unmasked as MasterChef star, TV personality, and acclaimed restaurateur Joe Bastianich.
Sir Lion is Billy Bush
Episode 4 was TV Theme Night with the season's first wildcard joining the competition. Sir Lion's reign did not last long as he was immediately sent into a smackdown and ultimately eliminated. The panelists season-long cold streak continued as none of them were able to guess his identity based on clues about having a famous family and being a TV host. Sir Lion was revealed to be ousted Today host and current Extra host Billy Bush.
Lizard is Sisqo
Episode 5's Shower Anthems Night was also the Group C Finals. It was supposed to be a double elimination, until the panel used the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell to save Poodle Moth. That meant Lizard was the only one eliminated. Lizard was revealed as Sisqo, the Grammy-nominated "Incomplete" singer and former Dru Hill member. After his unmasking, Sisqo sang his 2000 smash hit, the "Thong Song," to an adoring audience and an even more adoring Rita Ora.
Lovebird is Colton Underwood
The Masked Singer episode 6's Transformers Night resulted in a double elimination. First to go was Lovebird, who was revealed as former Bachelor lead Colton Underwood. The Coming Out Colton star told EW he wanted to be on The Masked Singer for years. "After I came out, the timing wasn't right in my life," he said. "I was still very much in my coming-out process and healing, and getting back in front of cameras was not in my cards, but I always knew a show like this is just so fun. And it was sort of a matter of timing just both with my schedule, but then also where I was in my personal life too. Because coming from reality TV, it's sort of a blend, and it's trying to figure out what I wanted, and what parts of me I wanted to carry on into this new chapter of my life."
Koala is DeMarcus Ware
Transformers Night also introduced Koala as a new wildcard, but no sooner had we met the melodic marsupial than he was voted off the show. Koala was unmasked and revealed to be former NFL linebacker DeMarcus Ware.
Ugly Sweater is Charlie Wilson
The Masked Singer episode 6's Queen Night sadly resulted in the unraveling of Ugly Sweater, who was revealed as Charlie Wilson, the Grammy-nominated former lead singer of the Gap Band. Wilson told EW he didn't expect the panel to be able to recognize him so soon. "I was so excited, except for when I opened my mouth the very first time I started singing and Robin Thicke said, 'That's Charlie Wilson,'" he shared. "I was like, aw man, let me sing a few more times. When he was just saying, 'Nope, nope, that's Charlie Wilson. I studied his voice. I know what his voice sounds like. I've been studying him since I was a kid.'"
Starfish is Kate Flannery
The second heartbreaking elimination on Queen Night was Starfish, the adorable aquatic creature who was revealed to be The Office star Kate Flannery. The actress told EW that although she didn't mean to channel her character from the beloved sitcom on the singing competition, a bit of Meredith did jump out in one moment of physical comedy. "I actually did wipe out once, but it wasn't on camera," she revealed. "It took eight guys to pick me up. I did not hurt myself though. That thing was all foam. It was fantastic." She made sure to confirm that, unlike with Meredith, there was "no drinking" on the job, saying, "I was completely sober as the Starfish."
Miss Cleocatra is Jenifer Lewis
The Masked Singer episode 8's Girl Group Night saw the elimination of one fierce competitor. After losing a smackdown to new wildcard Seal, Miss Cleocatra was unmasked as prolific actress Jenifer Lewis. The Black-ish and I Love That for You star told EW she was "absolutely not" familiar with Masked Singer, but was encouraged by her friends to do it as part of her recovery from a near-fatal fall she suffered in late 2022. "I couldn't walk yet, and I was still on a little morphine," she said about performing on the show. "I think it was only five months after the accident [when I got the call], I was still in a lot of pain and I was still on the walker, but Masked Singer said they'd take care of me, and they did. When I was singing 'Stormy Weather,' they had bolted me down to the floor in a harness."
Seal is Corey Feldman
Episode 9's Soundtrack of My Life night was also the Group B finals, which meant two contestants had to go. The first eliminated was the cuddly wildcard Seal, who was revealed as former child star Corey Feldman. The Goonies and Stand by Me actor told EW he had an incredible time on the show, aside from the bulky costume. "The suit was very uncomfortable," he shared. "A lot of people don't realize how sweaty that damn thing is because there is room to move around. That's not really the problem: not having room to move around. It's more the fact that you're so just strapped in, and there's no oxygen flow other than that little area that comes through the face. But it's pretty constrictive as far as the claustrophobia goes, and I'm pretty claustrophobic, so it was a little bit overwhelming in that regard."
Beets are Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken
The second contestant sent home in the Group B finals was actually two. Sadly, the Beets won't go on. The fan-favorite buddies lost out to Gumball for a spot in the finale and were revealed to be American Idol season 2 winner Ruben Studdard and his runner-up Clay Aiken. The former opponents, who are touring together, told EW producers wanted to pair them up to help throw fans off. "I think they saw it as an interesting way to trick people a little bit," Aiken said. "I think people would not have assumed that a duo could be two people who don't typically perform as a duo." When asked how TMS stacked up to the Idol experience, Studdard said, "It's not even a comparison. Because the only stake is to have fun and enjoy the time that you are on Masked Singer. We were competing for our livelihood on American Idol, and that's just not the case here. We were just there to have a good time."
Poodle Moth is Chrissy Metz
Season 11 is nearing the end of the road. Episode 10 whittled down the contestants to a final three after saying goodbye to one of the The Masked Singer's cutest costumes ever, Poodle Moth. The snuggle bug was unmasked and revealed as This Is Us star Chrissy Metz. The actress wanted to be on the reality competition to help fans discover her as a professional singer in addition to her TV and movie work. "Music was my first love, and so it was part of the reason why I wanted to do the show, and just educate people that I was a singer," she told EW. "Because some people are like, 'Oh, wait, you sang in the show [This Is Us], but are you a real singer?'"
Clock is Thelma Houston
After what Jeong called "the best Battle Royale in the history of the show," Clock struck out against Goldfish and Gumball. The elegant timepiece removed her clock face to reveal her real face belonging to "Don't Leave Me This Way" Grammy winner Thelma Houston.
Gumball is Scott Porter
The finale came down to a battle of the Gs: Gumball vs. Goldfish. Despite a voice as sweet as his candy-filled mask, Gumball just missed the win. He was declared runner-up and unmasked to reveal Friday Night Lights and Ginny & Georgia actor Scott Porter. Although Porter didn't come out victorious as a contestant, he thinks he might be suited for another role on the show. "I should be a judge, because I guessed everyone in my group from day one," he told EW. "I've been all over the place in my 20-plus years in this business. I know a lot voices. So yeah, I'd love to pop back in and do a little guest judging. I think I'm well suited for it."
Goldfish is Vanessa Hudgens
That takes us to the season 11's golden-voiced champion, Goldfish, who was revealed to be Vanessa Hudgens. The High School Musical and Princess Switch star wowed the judges all season with her pipes and emotional backstory. Hudgens told EW her experience on The Masked Singer helped her learn a valuable lesson of "just how much weight fame bears." She explained of concealing her identity: "Once I got to take it away, I felt so free and liberated. So I guess tell the young ’uns out there, be careful what you wish for and make sure you're doing things for the right reasons because fame itself isn't the reason to do things."
