The Masked Singer panellist Davina McCall has revealed she “sobbed” after one reveal on the show.
The ITV show returned last week for its fifth season, with McCall being joined on the panel by Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and guest star Charlie Simpson.
McCall appeared on The One Show to preview the rest of the series, revealing that the unmasking of one celebrity proved overwhelming.

“I can’t tell you [who it was]... but this person,” she teased. “They literally said who it was and I was like: ‘Can I go onto the stage?’ [They said] ‘no’. I'm going. I had to go down, I sobbed, I cried – I know this person very well.”
The premiere episode of the fifth season saw Weather become the first figure to be unmasked, with McCall, Simpson and Ross all correctly deducing that it was legendary singer Dionne Warwick underneath the mask.
“It's been an absolute joy. When I was asked to do the show, I said 'I'm going to have some fun' but I can never disguise my voice,” said the singer, who was eliminated following her performance of ‘I Can See Clearly Now’.

The Masked Singer isn’t the only show that McCall has appeared on over the New Year period, with the former Big Brother presenter playing a fictionalised version of herself in the Doctor Who Christmas special, ‘The Church on Ruby Road.’
“It's an honour,” said the star of her cameo. “It was funny because I got asked and I was working all the way through and I was like, move everything. I used to watch it when I was a kid so Jon Pertwee was my first Doctor – that's how old I am!”
