'Massacres Need to Stop': Liverpool's Mo Salah Calls for End to Violence

Egypt and Liverpool football star Mohamed Salah has called for an end to the “massacres” in Gaza, in a video posted on his X profile on Wednesday, October 18.

“There has been too much violence and too much heart-breaking brutality. The escalation in the recent weeks is unbearable to witness. All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop,” he said.

Salah said there was an urgent need for humanitarian aid in the Palestinian enclave, saying people required food, water, and medical supplies.

“I’m calling on the world leaders to come together to prevent the further slaughter of innocent souls. Humanity must prevail,” he said. Credit: Mohamed Salah via Storyful

MOHAMED SALAH: It's not always easy to speak in time like this. There has been too much violence and too much heartbreaking brutality. The escalations in the recent weeks is unbearable to witness. All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop. Families are being torn apart.

What's clear now is that humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed immediately. The people there are in terrible conditions. The scenes at the hospital last night were horrifying. The people of Gaza need food, water, and medical supplies urgently. I'm calling the world leaders to come together to prevent the further slaughter of innocent souls. Humanity must prevail.
