Firefighters have been called to a huge grass fire with flames visible from miles away. Crews were called to the blaze yesterday evening as a resident captured the scene in this dramatic image (pictured).

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the blaze was on Mynydd Gelliwastad near Clydach in Swansea. A spokesperson said crews were alerted to the incident at 9.15pm, reports WalesOnline.

Two fire engines and a 4x4 fire service vehicle were sent. A spokesperson posted on X late last night: "We are currently in attendance at a large fire at the top of Mynydd Gelliwastad, thank you very much for your calls."

This picture (above) was taken by a local resident at 9.30pm. Others posting on social media said there was a "huge fire" on the hill.

But further pictures shared shortly after 10pm showed the fire having died down significantly.
