Hull City supporters have been vocal about their choices for the successor to recently sacked manager Liam Rosenior. The team's brush with Championship playoff glory has left fans eager to weigh in on who should take the helm next.

Owner Acun Ilicali hired the 39-year-old in November 2022 and since then Rosenior had been building a side that could battle for promotion back to the Premier League, but after missing out on the play-offs this season his tenure has been cut short. Now the hunt for a new manager is on and City fans have been having their say at Hull Live.

Woeful Tiger said: "Moyes is the man for me proven premier league quality."

While Gwtiger looked at the bigger picture by saying: "Whoever, becomes city's next manager let's hope he plays a more positive style of football, why everyone is surprised on LR getting sacked is beyond me, he only won 3 of the last 14 games, with his negative football should and could have done a lot better with the players he had, well done Acun for seeing that city missed a great opportunity for play offs due to LR,UTT."

While some readers added names they do not want to see lead the club, such as Yorkshire24680! who said: "Please please please not Steve Cooper. He failed at Forest with his lack of ambition. He may have taken them up but only after diabolical ref decisions in the final playoff. His negativity is there for all to see. Moyes will do really well."

Hullabaloo2 said: "Gutted that Rosie has gone. Best manager City have had in years or even decades. Who's the best available manager or there at the moment for a Championship club? Got to be Liam Rosenior. But failing to reappoint him, out of that list the Sheff Wed gaffer has to be top of the list. Wherever Rosie ends up, I wish him all the best and hope he wins something next season."

Stonydarts joked: "Got more chance of getting Harry Potter than Graham Potter. The owner will have one of his mates lined up, let's wait on the next batch of players shipped in from Turkey for some poor soul to try and make a team of. Got the same trepidation about this has when they first turned up and put SA in position."

FrankS72 also said: "You won’t get Potter in a million years he’s turned down top clubs in various countries."

Tiger Alf said: "Steve Bruce may be well down the list but I hope and pray Nigel Pearson is way, way lower! Utterly dismal manager that shouldn't be on any shortlist, can't relate to the fans or the media."

Hull24 said: "Potter can probably do better than Hull City, given he has had Ajax after him too. Moyes maybe could do okay but not so convinced, the championship is a lot different to the PL. I think they would be better off with a new up-and-coming manager (like what they already had in Rosenior). Will Still looks interesting to me but he's a massive gamble. I'm struggling to think of anyone who is convincingly better than Rosenior who's actually realistic."

Hull24 said: "Might sound crazy but I thought Ruud van Nistelrooy was on to something with PSV, I'd take him at Hull City in a heartbeat, commands respect from players because of who he is, probably open to managing in England, won trophies with PSV, 64% Win rate, P51 W33 D10 L8 GF126 GA60. Another name would be Steve Cooper who seems realistic."

gemini 30 said: "Paul Heckingbottom nothing fazes him & experienced."

Captjwp commented: "What about Grant McCann. Took over Doncaster near relegation and got them into the playoffs. Would be a daft choice, but there again getting rid of Rosie is."

SteveB2017 said: "I'd have Bruce as DoF, but not manager. Pearson no way! I reckon he'll go for the Cardiff gaffer."

Jensen55 added: "Hope to God the next manager ditches the play from the back style. Potter could do a good job. Maybe Moyes."
