Summer days often lead to lazy evenings enjoying a glass of something chilled on the patio. Or at least, that's how our evenings could be if it wasn't for the weather of the Great British summer.

As the UK languishes under cloudy skies heavy with rain, barbecue weather feels like a million miles away. But whatever is on the menu, wine expert Luke Flunder can find you the perfect bottle to suit every flavour in any weather.

In a video on TikTok, the wine connoisseur with over 200,00 followers, continues his mission to help wine lovers everywhere "drink less wine, but drink better wine." In his weekly recommendation post, he said: "It's Friday night and you know what that means - time to open up a great bottle of wine."

Standing in the drizzling rain in a quiet corner of his garden, Luke said: "Normally at this time of year I'd be opening up a light, elegant, chilled pinot noir." But we are guessing this rather autumnal spell of weather has probably turned his thoughts, along with ours, to something a little more substantial.

Admitting in the comment section that he is standing in the rain because his "kids were going bonkers in the house" he says that he has "brought in the big guns and there's not much bigger than the Tannat grape from Uruguay - it's a step up level from Bodega Garzon."

Taking a swig the vino meister said: "Well, if it was public transport, it would be a double-decker bus. It's massive. But unlike Madiran, its birthplace, where you can get really dark tannic wines, this has a little bit more elegance to it."

Still standing in the drizzling rain, Luke concludes that the Garzon is "a great thing, especially with steak instead of Malbec or Zinfandel."

Unlike his usual supermarket suggestions, Luke doesn't share where he purchased the bottle from or how much it will set you back. Having looked online, however, Garzon Bodega Tannat appears to start from around £18.99 from online merchants such as Laithwaites.

It may well be a higher price tag than some of his usual recommendations, but you can't get on the bus for free.

As a former manager at Majestic Wine, Luke regularly shares his best, boozy finds with his followers, recommending bottles that won't break the bank. From Aldi reds that really deliver to a cracking £7 supermarket white that comes highly recommended Luke is one of a growing number of social media wine experts helping us drink better for less.
