Wallace looked back on Dent appearing on MasterChef as a guest and seemingly shut down speculation she may have left the jungle due to food poisoning.
"Listen, she has been a guest judge on MasterChef many times and I am sure she can cope with a bit of dodgy food in the jungle," he told The Sun.
"I don't think that is the reason she has gone. I don't know why she has left. John Torode told me about it. I hope she is okay."
Ahead of last night's (November 27) show, it was announced that the food critic had left the show due to medical reasons. Her departure was then addressed on the show as the campmates learned about her departure.
Dent left a note for her co-stars, read by Hollyoaks' Nick Pickard during the episode.
"My dear campmates, I'm so sorry to let you down," Dent's message read. "I have left the camp for medical reasons – my heart is broken.
"I have loved and enjoyed getting to know you all. You've held me up and it's been a pleasure being your friend through this experience.
"Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life. I love you all. Your friend, Miss Grace Dent."
Dent was supposed to take part in a trial prior to her exit, but was replaced by former EastEnders star Danielle Harold who took it on alongside Josie Gibson. The challenge required them to perform a game of throw and catch as they were suspended on a platform in midair.
I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
