Matt Bailey was in sparkling form for Porthill Park fourths to inspire them to victory over Stone SP thirds in NSSCL Division Five.

Bailey showcased his batting prowess first of all with a half-century in Porthill Park’s 152-8 from their 40 overs.

Bailey hit five fours in his 58, with Dave Nolan (20) and Alex Lockett (19) providing valuable support.

Stanley Langmead, Dan Farrow and Alfie Davies all took two wickets.

Bailey was then at the forefront of Porthill Park’s bowling effort after tea.

He helped himself to 6-10 as Stone SP were dismissed for just 51. Langmead and Reggie Pardy-McLaughlin both made 12.

Stafford seconds turned on the style with the bat to win at Moddershall & Oulton fifths.

Stafford looked like they faced a tall order after being set 210 for victory.

However, it was a challenge which they rose to magnificently as they wrapped up an eight-wicket success with 17 balls to spare.

Their win was down to a trio of half-centuries in a fine response.

Terry Jones hit four fours in his 73 not out, Mark Evans struck 67, containing 11 boundaries, while Paul Darmody’s unbeaten 50 included four fours.

Waqar Shabbir (70) and Shahid Mahmood (56) had earlier provided the highlights in the Modd men’s 209-6.

Shabbir struck eight fours and three sixes, while Mahmood’s knock contained six boundaries.

Sam Haynes, Oscar Bell and Richard West all took two wickets.

Leycett seconds won by eight wickets at home against their Whitmore counterparts.

Martin Bryan’s 3-18, plus two wickets apiece for Liam Bedson and Alistair Gething, limited Whitmore to 105 all out.

Alex Holland and Ahaan Gowda contributed 30 and 29 respectively.

Tom Blackwood and Martin Bryan then compiled 40 apiece as Leycett eased across the line.

Sandyford seconds won on their visit to Meir Heath 2nd XI.

Meir Heath were bundled out for 48 in the early stages, in which Glen Reilly top-scored with 12.

Tim Brennan did the bulk of the damage with 4-10 and four wickets were shared between Preston Davies and Andrew Pender.

Double strikes from Muhammad Raja, Jan Osgathorpe and Muhammed Waseem hinted at a Meir Heath fightback.

But Sandyford won by four wickets as Ben Turnock made 21 and Patrick Wilkes added 11.

Caverswall seconds made home advantage count to beat Stafford thirds.

Glen Moore (47) and Kallum Crawford (24) were in fine fettle to steer Caverswall to 149 all out.

Sikandar Alam Khan (4-30) took the bowling accolades for Stafford, with Muhammad Saleem and Joshua Williams scooping a couple of victims apiece.

Dan Howe and Ranjith Manghat Ramachandran both made 16 in Stafford’s reply, but there wasn’t a sizeable contribution to enable them to chase down the target.

They were eventually bowled out for 112 as Chris Baranowski snared 4-20. John Baker and Ian Higgins claimed doubles.

Audlem pocketed the points from their home meeting with Cheadle thirds.

Jack Allman’s half-century was key to Audlem being able to amass 185-8 from their allocation

Allman struck five fours and three sixes in his 54, while support came from Dave Blatherwick (32), Ben Salisbury (21) and Dave Parkinson (18). Louie Welford picked up two wickets.

Cheadle’s response was fronted by Joe Degg’s big-hitting innings.

Degg blazed 12 fours and three sixes in his 68-ball 93. But it wasn’t enough as Cheadle were bowled out for 154 as Vijayan Rahul took 3-34 and there were a couple of wickets apiece for Abhijith Jayan and Allman.
