Matt Hancock has said people will see him "warts and all" when he enters I'm A Celebrity.

The former health secretary is set to move into the jungle camp alongside fellow newcomer Seann Walsh.

Their arrival was teased at the end of Tuesday night's (8 November) instalment of the ITV show, with hosts Ant and Dec saying it was the "worst kept secret in TV".

In the clip of the new arrivals, Hancock was heard saying it would be an "adventure".

"When I'm in camp, people will just see the real me," he said.

"Survival in the jungle is a good metaphor for the world I work in.

"People will see me warts and all, will see the human side of the guy behind the podium."

Walsh - who was pictured kissing his married pro dance partner Katya Jones when he took part in Strictly in 2018 - said some of the things he'd read about himself had "hurt".

He said he'd like a "new start" and to "just maybe change opinions".

There was also good news for the rest of the campers as Ant and Dec said it was the newcomers who would face the next trial.

"Can't wait for that!" said Ant.

Hancock has been widely criticised for signing up for the programme.

The politician, who is the MP for West Suffolk, has had the Tory whip suspended after opting to join the show.

And last week the Daily Star devoted a front page to asking readers to vote for him to do all of the Bushtucker Trials when he enters the jungle.

Many viewers posted messages on Twitter saying they were pleased to hear that he would be taking on a trial.

One posted: "Matt Hancock doing a trial as soon as he enters... the UK public can finally SMILE."

"Matt Hancock is on his way guys, and he’ll be doing live trial," said another. "What could possibly go wrong."

Sharing an old picture of Ant and Dec laughing, one wrote: "Hearing that Matt Hancock has to do a trial as soon as he gets into the jungle."

Another predicted that it was going to be "fun".
