I'm A Celebrity viewers were left "howling" after Lioness Jill Scott asked Matt Hancock if he was doing Love Island.

The former health secretary, who has been slated for going into the jungle, got in some exercise in the latest episode of the ITV show, running back and forth through the camp.

Scott and comedian Seann Walsh ran with him for a bit but when they quit and he carried on, Scott asked Hancock what he was in training for.

"If he collapses I’m not giving him mouth-to-mouth," she laughed.

She then joked that the politician could be doing Love Island next summer, suggesting that was why he was trying to get fitter.

Fans were thoroughly amused by the footballer's remark.

"LOVE ISLAND NEXT YEAR I'M HOWLING," one posted on Twitter.

Another said: "He might be on Love Island next year! Jill is hilarious."

"What a vision," commented one viewer.

Another said: "I am CRYING she’s such a legend."

"I would watch Love Island if Matt Hancock was on it," tweeted someone else.

Another said it was the "best quote of the series", adding: "Jill to win."

"He didn’t say no though did he..." pointed out someone else.

One viewer posted: "They’re joking but if you told me 6 months ago former health secretary Matt Hancock was going to appear on I'm A Celeb I’d have laughed in your face. Please don’t cross over to Love Island next."

As well as I'm A Celebrity, Hancock is also thought to have signed up for the reality show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
