Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie Attend Same Wedding 6 Years After He Was Fired from “Today ”Show

Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie reunited this weekend.

The former co-hosts both attended the wedding for Today show producer Jennifer Long and her husband Reid Sterrett in New York City on Saturday.

The event marked the first time the two stars have been photographed at the same public place since 2017, when Lauer was fired from his role on Today by NBC.

His termination came after a former network employee, who was later identified as Brooke Nevils, claimed that she had been sexually assaulted by Lauer, which he has denied. After her accusations surfaced, several other women came forward with similar accusations.

For the event over the weekend, Lauer, 65, who wore a dark gray checked suit, was joined by his girlfriend, Shamin Abas, who donned a flowing back dress and silver cardigan.

Arriving separately at the N.Y.C. venue with her husband Michael Feldman, current Today host Guthrie, 51, wore a black velvet dress with white detailing, including a chic bow, which she teamed with a black blazer.

Her husband complemented her look, opting for a black suit, blue tie and black and white sneakers.

Both Lauer and Guthrie were all smiles as they were photographed entering the venue with their respective partners, though it is unknown whether they spent time together during the evening.

The two TV stars were joined at Long and Sterrett's wedding reception by a group of other famous faces, including former GMA3: What You Need to Know co-anchors Amy Robach and T.J Holmes, as well as Today's Hoda Kotb and Al Roker.

Robach, 50, and Holmes, 46, held hands and smiled as they arrived at the event, which they attended after making an appearance at iHeartRadio's JingleBall concert at Madison Square Garden on Friday night.

The pair looked happy and relaxed at the music event, which took place shortly after news that their respective ex-spouses, Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, had found love together.

Lauer's attendance at Long's wedding comes after a source exclusively told PEOPLE in November that he had “drastically changed his social circle and iced out many old friends, even people who stuck by him after the Today show.”

The TV host and journalist — who has been dating Abas since 2019 — is now living “a fairly good life” the insider added, also noting that “it's nothing at all like what it was” before he was fired from his role at NBC.

“It's a very quiet lifestyle, but he has nothing to complain about,” the source said.

“He is dating, he's close with his kids. He still held on to the huge horse farm he shared with [ex-wife] Annette [Roque] on Long Island and they manage it together," the insider added. "They've navigated that fairly well."

A second and third source also recently confirmed to PEOPLE that Lauer had sold his home in the Hamptons last year.
