Matt O'Riley ranked alongside Jude Bellingham as Celtic stars make Champions League top 10 lists

Celtic have been represented in two key Champions League criteria by star players Matt O'Riley and Alistair Johnston.

Brendan Rodgers and his troops exited Europe's elite competition at the group stage once again this season - a similar fate that Ange Postecoglou's crop suffered last season. But they were able to go one better and finally got that long awaited win with three points under the lights as they defeated Feyenoord. Gustaf Lagerbielke's added-time winner on the final matchday ended a six year wait for a victory and a first in over ten years on their home turf.

The tournament has since progressed to the semi-final stage with one of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG or Borussia Dortmund set to taste success. And it is the latter who lead the way in this season's edition for the most tackles and assists in the tournament to date. Mats Hummels is the top man for challenges with team-mate Nico Schlotterbeck third in the standings. Celtic's Johnston comes in at seventh with the likes of Eduardo Camavinga of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann and Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich all represented.

In the assist column, O'Riley stands proudly alongside the likes of Real Madrid star duo Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham and Barcelona's İlkay Gündoğan and Pedri with the Hoops man ninth in the overall charts this season. He's been a key man for Rodgers domestically with his impact at the top level also evident. He's been the subject of interest from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan in recent times and with the summer window looming they may well look to revive that interest in the midfielder.
