Matthew and Camila McConaughey Play Pickleball Pantsless in New Tequila Ad

Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila McConaughey, are baring it all in a new ad for their tequila brand.

The couple, who are the co-founders and “chief pants officers,” of Pantalones Organic Tequila launched a new campaign in honor of Friday’s “No Pants Day.”

In a video for the campaign (below), the pair are decked out in pickleball outfits on a court, declaring their tequila the “official tequila of pickleball.” The McConaugheys also share their recipe for the Pantalones pickle margarita.

“We’re precious about our tequila, not our pants,” Matthew and Camila McConaughey said in a statement. “While we’re all for being passionate about tequila, we wanted to remind people that, above all, it’s meant to be fun. That’s where the name Pantalones came from, and that’s why you won’t see us wearing any.”

The McConaugheys have also released an accompanying print ad that parodies the tennis girl poster from the 1970s.

The couple launched the brand in the fall of 2023 with Blanco, Reposado and Añejo. The award-winning line of tequila is “crafted to celebrate having fun, doing good and not taking life too seriously,” according to a release.

In the brand’s first year on the market, the Añejo tequila was recently awarded the San Francisco World Spirits Competition’s highest honor, the double gold – an award given when all judges unanimously voted it the best in class. Their Blanco tequila also received a gold medal while the Reposado received the bronze.

The brand said in a release that almost all of their 2024 work will be pants-free.
