The "Dallas Buyers Club" star's eye did not look all right at all.

On Wednesday, the Oscar winner shared a photo of himself with his right eye swollen shut, but a grin on his face. He captioned it simply, "bee swell," suggesting that he lost a fight with an insect.

EW has reached out to his representatives for further comment.

Though it's unclear where it happened, the Magic Mike star famously lives in his home state of Texas, where he and his wife, Camila Alves, are raising their three kids (Levi, Vida, and Livingston). The McConaugheys famously made their move out of Los Angeles in 2014, after sampling life in the Lone State State during a family emergency.

The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star said that, when they moved, the difference was immediate.

"Ritual came back," he told Southern Living in March, "whether that was Sunday church, sports, dinner together as a family every night, or staying up after that telling stories in the kitchen, sitting at the island pouring drinks and nibbling while retelling them all in different ways than we told them before."

His Texas locale also gives McConaughey easier access to football games played by his beloved University of Texas at Austin Longhorns. The actor is often spotted cheering on the team from the sidelines.

McConaughey's upcoming projects include The Rivals of Amziah King, a crime movie with Kurt Russell and Riverdale alum Cole Sprouse, set in rural Oklahoma, as well as The Lost Bus. The latter drama, which costars America Ferrera, fresh off her Oscar nomination for Barbie, focuses on California's 2018 Camp Fire disaster.
