A popular Edinburgh Asian supermarket has opened its doors in the city centre.

Matthew's Foods supplies a variety of oriental foods and ingredients with a store located on Inglis Green Road, Longstone. Now, the doors have opened to their new store on Lothian Road.

They describe themselves as being the "go-to" for all things Asian cuisine in the capital. After welcoming customers in on Thursday, April 25, the owners opened up the shop two days earlier than planned.

Taking to Facebook, they said: "Great news. We are thrilled to announce that our new store will be open for business earlier than expected.

"We will be welcoming you all from 9.30am tomorrow, Thursday, April 25. So please come and visit us soon.

"Find us at 23 Earl Grey Street EH3 9BN (near Lothian Road) Hours: 9.30a, to 6pm".

Matthew's Foods also has branches in other Scottish cities such as Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee as well as operating several restaurants - one of which is Imperial Palace which is located in the same building as the Longstone supermarket.

Customers of the new Edinburgh store can expect varieties of different noodles, exotic spices, canned foods and oriental cooking fine with a mic of Japanese, Korean and South East Asian groceries.
