Matt Healy's family conveyed in four words that Taylor Swift's intensely cutting new track "won't come as a shock" to him and added "nothing surprises him anymore".

The 34 year old pop sensation, is widely presumed to have directed her wrath at the 1975's vocalist in her fresh song The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, that debuted today. With the launch of her eagerly-awaited album The Tortured Poets Department, Swifties have been avidly dissecting the tracks for hints about her private life.

Many were taken aback to discover that the main track of her latest album was inspired by her fleeting liaison with longtime compadre Matty, whom she dated during May and June last year post her split from Joe Alwyn. Her lyrics in The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived read: "You tried to buy some pills from a friend of friends of mine/ But they just ghosted you/ Now you know what it feels like."

Fans interpreted this as a nod to Matty, offspring of Denise Welch and Tim Healy. The verse refers to a man in a "Jehovah's Witness suit" who was "rusting my sparkling summer".

Known for his penchant for donning suits while performing, rumours suggest that the twosome called it quits last summer, reports the Mirror.

Debbie Dedes, Denise's sister and Matty Healy's aunt, has shared her thoughts on how her nephew might react to Taylor Swift's new tracks. She confessed "nothing surprises him anymore".

Debbie remarked: "He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on."

She noted that Taylor is famed for penning songs about her former flames and continued: "I don't think it will come as a shock to him at all."

Further insights were provided by Debbie to the Daily Mail, where she mentioned that Matty is "very happy" in his current relationship and hinted that the family is privy to more details about his past with Taylor "than has been in the press". In one of her songs, Taylor alludes to an unnamed man who "tried to buy some pills" and "didn't measure up in any measure of a man".

Matty has candidly discussed his struggles with drugs and addressed rumours about his stature. Despite claims of being 5ft 10ins, he often looks shorter next to his taller bandmates from The 1975.

In a 2018 interview with The Fader, he explained: "Everyone in [the 1975] is 6ft 4ins and I'm 5ft 10ins, so everyone thinks that I'm 5ft 5ins."

Taylor also referenced Matty's previous comments about how being associated with her was "emasculating", as she delivered another biting line in her song. She sang: "In public showed me off/ Then sank in stoned oblivion because once your queen had come/ You treat her like an ulcer/ You didn't measure up in any measure of a man/ You said normal girls were boring but you were gone by morning."

Taylor and Matty, who initially crossed paths and sparked a flirtation in 2014, had a fleeting romance last year when he flew out to join her on the Nashville stop of her Era's tour. Matty has since found love with Gabriella Bechtel, who has already met his family.

Gabbriette, the lead singer of punk rock band Nasty Cherry, has been linked romantically to Matty since September of the previous year. Meanwhile, Taylor is also enjoying a high-profile relationship with Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce.
