A McDonald’s fan has shared the ultimate hack for anyone looking to grab a meal for just a fraction of the price.

Casey Major-Bunce, the brains behind Majormumhacks, revealed customers can get a meal for just £2.99 with a secret survey hack.

McDonald’s fans will be able to get either six Chicken McNuggets, one Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish, McChicken Sandwich, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, or McPlant with either one medium Fries or one Side Salad for just £2.99 for completing the chain’s Food for Thoughts Survey.

The mum explained that if you have a receipt from a previous visit that’s no older than 60 days, you can use the code to enter the survey. In a video uploaded to her Instagram page, Casey said: “Do you know this McDonald’s hack? You can get any of these meals for just £2.99 with fries, and all you need to do is fill in a quick survey on your receipt, and you can do this again and again.”

She further explained in the caption: “This handy hack will help over the summer, and you can use this hack again and again. So, you will need a previous receipt from a visit that’s no longer than 60 days old.

“Use the 12-digit code that will be printed on it, and then you just have to enter the McDonald’s ‘Food for Thought’ website and fill out a quick survey about your recent trip. It will take you two minutes. You’ll then receive a five-digit code, which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.

“You can also use the offer multiple times with different receipts, and to get a receipt and code, you don’t need a minimum spend.”

Fans of the fast food chain were amazed by the revelation, with tippytoppy11 saying: “Every time you make a new purchase you will be able to do the survey and claim your reward. Also download the app and you can order on that, collect points for further discounts and also get special offers. The survey can also be done on the app.”

Lornacochrane wrote: “It’s so worth noting that if you mention a member of staff when you fill out a ‘food for thought’, that person gets an extra £1 for recognition in their pay. It’s a really good incentive for younger employees.”

McDonald’s has given a rundown of the offer’s terms and conditions . To be eligible to receive the money-saving offer, you have to be a UK resident aged 18 or over, complete the Food for Thoughts Survey within 60 days of receiving a receipt containing the Food for Thoughts survey participation code, and receive an email voucher with a QR code or 12 digit alphanumeric participation code.

An expiry date will also be given, and the offer may be used once per customer. All you need to do to redeem the offer is scan the QR code on the voucher at a digital kiosk, or enter the 12 digit alphanumeric participation code on the Voucher at a digital kiosk, or present the QR code or 12 digit alphanumeric participation code on the Voucher to a crew member and request that a crew member scans or enters that code at a till.
