McDonald's Will Sell Krispy Kreme Donuts Nationwide in 3 Flavors
Donuts are free at Krispy Kreme shops on Tuesday to celebrate the partnership
McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme are collaborating on the ultimate fast food mashup.
On Tuesday, the two brands announced a partnership which will span McDonald’s restaurants nationwide. Krispy Kreme will provide fresh donuts to the burger chain each day. The initiative will begin later in 2024 and will be fully rolled out across the country by 2026.
Three of the donut chain’s treats will be sold at McDonald’s restaurants: the original glazed donut, the chocolate iced with sprinkles donut and the chocolate iced kreme-filled donut. The sugary confections will be sold individually or in boxes of six all day including during breakfast hours.
McDonald’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer Tariq Hassan said in a statement that the collaboration is a chance for the golden arches to “unlock new business opportunities in the breakfast category and throughout the day.”
For Krispy Kreme, the partnership will help with make the chain more accessible. President and CEO Josh Charlesworth said that his “top request” from consumers is to “please bring Krispy Kreme to my town.”

“Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme,” he added in a statement.
Krispy Kreme is celebrating the new mashup with McDonald’s by giving out one free glazed donut to guests who visit KK shops from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.
In October 2022, the brands announced a test of the concept, which proved successful. Almost 200 McDonald’s restaurants in the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, areas drove “consumer excitement and demand exceeded expectations,” per a release.
