Meet King Charles's Siblings
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip had four children: King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward.
King Charles has very different relationships with each of his siblings: He and Anne were born just 21 months apart, and grew up very close. Following the death of their mother, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Anne said in a statement, "We may have been reminded how much of her presence and contribution to our national identity we took for granted. I am also so grateful for the support and understanding offered to my dear brother Charles as he accepts the added responsibilities of The Monarch."
He is less close with his younger brothers. In particular, he reportedly does not get along with Andrew, who is no longer a working royal, due to backlash surrounding his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein. And, though Edward is a working royal—Charles granted him the Duke of Edinburgh title last year—the brothers are 15 years apart and did not exactly grow up together.
In October 2022, Charles made his sister Princess Anne and his brother Prince Edward both counsellors of state, joining his wife Queen Camilla, Prince Andrew, Charles's sons Prince William and Prince Harry, and Charles's niece Princess Beatrice. Previously, counsellors of state were limited to the spouse of the sovereign, and the next four people in the line of succession who are over the age of 21, but of that group, only William and Camilla were working royals, which proved to be a challenge.
