Meet Polly Brindle - the estate agent who swapped Barnoldswick for the bright lights of California

When the English weather is miserable, grey and damp, you sometimes can't help but picture yourself on a warm, sunny beach abroad. And that's exactly what one Lancashire native did - and she's made a name for herself too.

Swapping a quiet life in Barnoldswick for the sun, sea and celebrity of Orange County Beach in California, Polly Brindle is enjoying a different pace of life. As a model turned estate agent, Polly has since made a name for herself on the Netflix series, Selling the OC.

The hit show is about to launch its third series, where estate agents show off grand and impressive properties and in true Netflix style, a little bit of drama is thrown into the mix too. But her origins in Lancashire are a far cry away from her current lifestyle.

Talking to the Daily Mail about her upbringing in Barnoldswick, Polly said: "It’s way up north, very picturesque and has a very small-town mentality where everyone knows everyone else. It’s a very down-to-earth place."

As the only Brit on the property show, Polly also told the news outlet that her co-stars often struggled to understand her, adding: "They misunderstand me so often, they made a point of putting it on the show."

Now celebrating the upcoming third series of Selling the OC, you wouldn't be alone in thinking Polly had been an estate agent for the majority of her career. However, Polly didn't start off in the world of property.

In fact, she was once a model after being scouted at the age of 15. Since her rise to fame, the 38-year-old has returned to her roots and taken part in a photoshoot for British swimwear brand, Bluebella at Doheny State Beach in California.

On her instagram post, Polly said: "My ultimate fave lingerie brand @bluebella has just launched their first collection of swim and I’m SMITTEN. Sexy, fun and flattering…I’ll be in these beauts all summer long! Which look is your fave? Go check out the entire collection now before it sells out!"

On Selling the OC, Polly is an estate agent for the Oppenheimer Group where she helps to sell properties in Orange County, one of the most luxurious neighbourhoods in the USA. With the growing popularity of the show, Polly recently took to Instagram to thank fans and viewers for their support after winning Netflix's 'Number One Unscripted Show in the World'.

She wrote: "Number 1 unscripted show in the on @netflix. Having a major pinch-me moment and so PROUD to be a part of this incredible brokerage and cast. So happy that you have all been able to see my career journey go from strength to strength. My hustle will never stop (not ever) but boy, is it nice to take a step back and see how far I have come #LFG #number1baby SEASON 3 streaming now."

However, the drama that reality TV brings is a far cry away from her family life back in Lancashire. On a visit in 2022, Polly shared a picture on her Instagram with family, posting: "Family time finally! After 3 years, 2 new careers, 2 new homes, a marriage and about one squillion facetimes we are back together causing chaos in the local curry house."

Last week, took to the beach in some stylish swimwear to celebrate the launch of Series 3 of her hit Netflix reality show.

The 38-year-old former model turned estate agent posted several pictures of herself on instagram wearing some colourful body-con swimwear. She wore a British swimwear brand Bluebella for her impromptu photo-shoot at Doheny State Beach in California.
