Meg 2: The Trench confirms digital release date
Good news if you're eager to watch Jason Statham taking on mega sharks from the comfort of your living rooms.
The over-the-top, hotly-anticipated sequel to 2018's The Meg, titled Meg 2: The Trench, has finally landed a home release date. You can welcome big Megs and all sorts of other bloodthirsty marine creatures into your homes from tomorrow (August 25), should you be so inclined.
Shark lovers in the US will be very soon able to buy the movie on Prime Video and other platforms, though this side of the pond the wait will be a little longer.

Those in the UK could think ahead and pre-order Meg 2, being first in line for when the film becomes available for home video. We can't say when that will be at the moment, but watch this space as we'll update you as soon as we know more.
Five years after the Megalodons took the world by storm, they're back doing what they do best: reducing incautious beachgoers, careless scientists and divers to a pulp.
That's where Statham's fearless hero Jonas Taylor, now an environmental crisis specialist, comes in. Working with the Oceanic Institute run by the late Suyin's brother Jiuming (Wu Jing), he's tasked with mapping the bits of the ocean where the prehistoric creatures seem to come from.

Of course, the mission goes awry before you can say "Meg" when the crew run into an illegal mining operation.
Alongside Statham and Jing, Meg 2 also stars returnees Page Kennedy and Cliff Curtis. The cast of this gory ocean drama is rounded out by Sophia Cai, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Skyler Samuels, Sienna Guillory, Melissanthi Mahut, Whoopie Van Raam, Kiran Sonia Sawar and Felix Mayr.
Meg 2: The Trench is out now in cinemas. The film is available to buy in the US from August 25.
