Megan Fox Revealed She’s Been in Abusive Relationships That "No One Knows" About With “Very Famous People”

She reminded fans that her poetry book isn't a memoir, but offers up some "literal" insight into her life.

A miscarriage with her fiancé Machine Gun Kelly isn't the only news coming out along with Megan Fox's new collection of poetry, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. During an interview with Good Morning America, the actress reminded readers that the poems do not equate to a memoir before sharing that she's experienced abusive relationships in the past that she has never mentioned. While she didn't name any names, she also clarified that the relationships were never public knowledge, though they were with "very famous" people.

"This is not an exposé that I wrote or a memoir. ... But throughout my life, I have been in at least one physically abusive relationship and several psychologically very abusive relationships," she said.

"I have only been publicly connected to a few people, but I shared energy with, I guess we could say, who were horrific people. And also very famous — very famous — people," Fox added. "But no one knows that I was involved with those people."

Fox is currently engaged to Machine Gun Kelly (born Colson Baker) and shares three kids with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green. In one of the sweetest moments from her interview, Fox shared that it was MGK who encouraged her to write the poems that appear in the book and that during the editing process, she removed some of the poems because she was afraid of the pushback she would receive.

"Some of it is too much when you’re a known person," Fox said. "If I had the freedom of just being a poet and people not really wanting to dig too much into my personal life, I would have included more entries like that."

In a poem titled "oxycodone and tequila," Fox wrote about domestic violence.

"your eyes go black / and I know it's too late to run," the poem starts before describing a character being pinned down, spit on, and choked by a man who is "delusional and possessed." "you hit me / again / and again / i recognize the familiar taste of blood on my tongue."

"Some of it is literal, while other parts are allegorical," she shared with People before adding "all of it is something women can relate to."

"Relationships are complicated," she shared. "For most of us, it's not a fairy tale. Relationships are not pretty. They are ugly. Sometimes they are a war. But through a wound enters an opportunity to grow and become a stronger more whole version of yourself."
