Beyoncé and JAY-Z have Megan Thee Stallion's back.

During an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast on Monday, July 1, the "Captain Hook" rapper opened up about her relationship with the power couple — and revealed how they've helped her in her career.

At one point in the conversation, host Shannon Sharpe asked Megan, 29, about her decision to part ways with her record label and go independent. Reflecting on the move, Megan revealed the advice she was given by JAY-Z.

"When I was in the situation that I was in and I wanted to get out of it, they told me, 'You need to do this on your own. You already know what it is, you got all the tools, all the legal s--- that you're gong through right now — I know that you're learning something. So, you should be able to figure out how to get ahead and be your own boss,'" Megan recalled of the conversation.

The "HISS" rapper then revealed that Beyoncé has inspired her other business endeavors — like starting her own tequila brand.

"I used to be the cognac queen, but as much as I used to enjoy cognac and I promoted a lot of people's liquor brands, she was like, 'The next time I see you, you need to have your own alcoholic beverage,'" she said. "I feel like they definitely put me in a position to learn how to be my own boss."

Reflecting on her relationship with the couple, Megan expressed gratitude to have them as mentors in the business.

"Never did I ever think that I was going to be managed by the people that I looked up to. It just felt like a big family. They're just so intelligent. They've been through everything. They're still going through it right now, but they just know how to carry it," she said.

"And I'm learning from the best. I feel like I'm in the right spot, the right position. I've never felt so safe in a situation where I feel like these people got my back. I've just seen how much they've grown, and how much they hustle and how much they let all the talk and whatever else people say roll off their back," she continued.
