The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly gearing up for a "world tour" after their recent visit to Nigeria.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made headlines with their mid-May trip to the African nation, where they focused on charitable endeavours, promoted the duke's Invictus Games, and explored Meghan's Nigerian roots.

Post-Nigeria, rumours have been rife about the couple's next move, with many suspecting a string of international visits from the California-based royals, reports the Express.

Prince Harry himself hinted at future travels during an interview with Nigerian publication Peoples Daily, saying: "There's only so much one can do from home and over Zoom, so we look forward to travelling more because the work matters."

While the Sussexes have kept quiet what's next, insiders suggest Ghana could be on their itinerary, with a source telling the Mirror about the buzz in Ghana: "There is already a lot of talk and excitement in Ghana, everyone is so keen for Harry and Meghan to come and experience the great culture and warmth."

The source also noted the country's popularity among celebrities like Ed Sheeran, Naomi Campbell, and One Direction's Liam Payne.

TalkTV presenter Andre Walker added fuel to the fire on his show That Was The Woke That Was, claiming: "Harry and Meghan are planning a world tour this summer following on from the success of their trip to Nigeria."

Discussing why Meghan and Harry, who ceased to be working royals and have not represented the Crown since spring 2020, may be embarking on more international visits, political advisor Sam Armstrong suggested they're attempting to "prove a point". He told the host his belief that the Duke and Duchess are keen to demonstrate they can "do better" than Kate and William.

Armstrong added: "What they are trying to do is show that they still got it and they can do it."

He stated: "And, of course, you can never forget that they have to do something to keep Spotify and Netflix interested, which have written a check for hundreds of millions of dollars to produce something so far haven't got much for it."

Meghan and Harry signed several-year contracts with the two streaming giants in late 2020 and produced a series of shows for them.

However, their association with Spotify was severed in summer 2023, and the Duchess has now clinched a fresh podcast contract with Lemonada Media.
