Meghan Markle is reportedly eager to mend bridges with Kate Middleton and has made attempts to reach out, according to sources.

Kate was present at the Trooping the Colour - the official celebration of the King's birthday - months after she announced a hiatus from public duties due to her cancer diagnosis.

Insiders at Closer magazine have claimed that Meghan and Prince Harry extended an olive branch to Kate in the run-up to the event, hoping to put an end to their ongoing feud, reports the Express.

This follows revelations of disagreements between Kate and Meghan in Harry's explosive memoir 'Spare', which hit the shelves last year.

A source told Closer: "Meghan's desperate to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them appearing like some sort of royal saviour could only do her image good.

"And, despite all their bad blood, her heart does go out to Kate - she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her. Meghan has made it clear she'd love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone's sake. She's ready to let the anger and bitterness go.

"Of course, it's not really up to her and Harry, all they can do is continue to reach out and offer olive branches."

The insider also suggested that Meghan hopes her sentiments are reaching Kate and that mending their relationship would bring a "huge relief" to the Sussexes.

The relationship between Meghan and Kate has reportedly been tense since Harry introduced Meghan to the Royal Family, a situation that worsened in the run-up to Harry and Meghan's wedding in May 2018.

According to Spare, a disagreement arose between Kate and Meghan over Princess Charlotte's flower girl dress.

Harry alleged that a subsequent text argument left Meghan 'on the floor sobbing'. The next day, it is reported that Kate sent Meghan flowers and a card as an apology.

The rift between Prince William and Harry supposedly intensified in 2019 when Harry claimed that his brother grabbed him by the collar and knocked him to the floor during a heated argument about Meghan.

A year later, Harry and Meghan stepped down from their roles as working royals, trading the United Kingdom for life in Montecito, California.
