Meghan Markle fans have defended the Duchess of Sussex after the 'soft launch' of her first product from her new luxury brand. Mum-of-two Meghan revealed in March that she would be launching new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

The first potential product from her brand was reportedly revealed this week. Friends of the Duchess - who shares Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with husband Prince Harry - seem to have received handmade pots of strawberry jam, hinting this could be the first release from American Riviera Orchard.

They have been sharing pictures online, revealing how they were sent a jar of jam from the former Suits actress. The small jars include handwritten labels featuring the American Riviera Orchard logo and 'Montecito' underneath.

There is also wording numbering which jar it is out of 50, indicating the batch of jam is a small production run. Friends of Meghan have since praised the jam made by the ex-actress, Mirror reports.

But fans have jumped to defend the Duchess after social media users claimed labels on the jars were 'peeling off'. One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Anybody notice the label on the promo jams Meghan Markle is sending to 'friends' is literally peeling off?

"Not a good start." Another said: "Cheap labels coming off. This is what people were waiting for?"

Responding, fans defended the Duchess, as one shared: "I know people are saying the label is coming off. Remember, Meghan is a sustainable girly.

"The label probably isn’t stuck firmly on to allow people to peel it off easily and reuse the jar for other things - maybe their own homemade batch of jam...from a cookbook."
