A walk to raise money for dementia will take place in the county this summer.

The Brighton walk hosted by Alzheimer’s Society will take place on September 29 at Hove Lawns.

Thousands are expected to take part in the Brighton Memory Walk this year to raise money for the charity, with over £116,000 raised last year.

The money goes towards helping people living with dementia in the UK and funding research into the disease.

A spokesman for Alzheimer's Society said: "Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer, with one in three people born in the UK today developing the condition.

"Together we are help and hope for around one million people living with dementia in the UK. Every step taken and pound raised will help to fund Alzheimer’s Society’s vital dementia support and research.

"Walk for those you love, those you’ve lost and for everyone living with dementia. By taking part in Memory Walk we can help to end the devastation caused by dementia."
