Men wanted following Morrisons shoplifting spree

Three men are reported to have walked into Morrisons in Abbeydale this morning (May 16) and attempted to steal items before fleeing the scene. A member of staff attempted to chase after one of the men, however they fell during the pursuit and were treated at the scene.

Police were called to the store at 8am this morning. An investigation has been launched and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: "Police are investigating a report of shoplifting from a shop in Heron Way, Abbeydale earlier today, Thursday 16 May. Officers were called to the store at 8am this morning after a report that three men had been seen attempting to steal items.

"A member of staff had tried to stop them but had fallen during their pursuit of them. They were treated at the scene for grazes.

"The main offender was described as being of mixed race, wearing a light grey or white tracksuit and a black hat. The other two men are described as being black with one of them wearing a grey or navy colour tracksuit and a black hat.

"Officers would like anybody with information about the incident to come forward.

"Anybody who witnessed the incident or who has relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website, quoting incident 74 of 16 May.
