Mesmerizing Squid Ink Wafts Through Australian Waters

An Australian diver filmed mesmerizing footage showing congealed squid ink wafting and twisting underwater in the Mornington Peninsula.

Jules Casey, who frequently posts underwater footage to her OneBreathDiver Instagram account, shared footage of the squid ink creating shapes in the water.

“When a squid is spooked or caught by a fisherman, it releases ink. It’s to confuse predators while they escape,” Casey said. Credit: Jules Casey via Storyful
