The Met Office issued a 30 hour long yellow rain warning as Coventry is set for a soaking. The alert comes into place just after midnight tomorrow (May 22) and lasts until 6am on Thurday, May 23.

Coventry and Warwickshire is among the area covered by the yellow warning for heavy rain, issued on the Met Office's website. It has said that there could be 'some flooding and disruption to travel' due to the forecast heavy downpours.

The yellow rain warning not only covers our area but stretches up to the north of the country as a band of rain sweeps in. It is in stark contrast to the scorching weather we saw at the weekend.

The rest of the week is set to be a mixture of sunshine and showers as we head into the Bank Holiday weekend. The latest local Met Office forecast for our area so far shows cloud, with highs of 19C on Bank Holiday Monday.

But the forecast warns of 'unsettled weather' over the Bank Holiday weekend.
