Met Office issues update on when it'll actually get warm and sunny

The Met Office has shared an update on when things will start picking up weather-wise in the UK. Many of us will be pleased to know that today (April 12) and tomorrow (April 13) will be around the 20C mark, according to the UK’s national forecaster.

However we will want to know when things will be like that for longer, especially as next week will see thermostats plummet to as low as 7C (with rain making an appearance too). Between Friday, April 26, and Friday, May 10, the Met Office claims there will be “high pressure [which] will probably be close to the UK with a good deal of dry weather for many areas.”

And moving into May, the calm conditions “will probably move northwards, with the driest weather across the northwest of the UK. Where more unsettled conditions develop, these are most likely in the south with a risk of some heavy rain or showers. Temperatures will probably rise above average overall, with warm days but some colder nights.”
