The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for parts of the North West.

Saturday night is set to be a busy night for the region as thousands of Taylor Swift fans head to Anfield for the singer's third and final concert at the stadium. Photos taken earlier today show Swifties sheltering from the rain as some camped overnight to be the first in line to see the global superstar.

People have also travelled from Liverpool and across the country to see the Foo Fighters perform at Manchester's Old Trafford Stadium this evening, while Liam Gallagher will also perform at Co-op Live's arena.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms from 11am until 10pm on Saturday. It does not currently cover Merseyside, but has been issued for other parts of the North West including parts of Greater Manchester, Blackpool, Preston and Cumbria.

According to the warning, "slow moving thunderstorms" and heavy showers could cause some disruption to travel and outdoor activities. The Met Office said this includes potential damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes and possible delays to train services.

Some short term loss of power and other services is also likely. The Met Office forecast for the North West tonight said: "Further heavy showers and possible thunderstorms this evening, before they gradually ease overnight.

"Further showers are possible overnight, especially around coasts. Becoming largely dry with some clear spells developing. Some mist and fog patches forming in places by dawn. Minimum temperature 5 °C."
