Met Office Monday weather forecast for Huddersfield, Sheffield, York and Bradford

While the sunshine and mild temperatures over the weekend may have given us a little hope that spring is in full swing, it’s all set to come crashing down again on Monday, as more heavy rain arrives in Yorkshire.

Heavy, blustery downpours are expected across the county today, accompanied by thunder and hail, with temperatures feeling cooler the previous days.

The weather forecast for Yorkshire on Monday, according to the Met Office is: “Some intermittent brighter spells between heavy blustery showers and the odd rumble of thunder. Feeling cold in the strong winds. Becoming drier during the evening. Maximum temperature 10C.”

Huddersfield

Heavy rain changing to hail showers by lunchtime. Maximum temperatures of 8C, with lows of 5C. Heavy showers are expected throughout the morning, changing to hail at around 2pm. Wind gusts of up to 46 mph will make it feel as cold as 2C.

Sheffield

Heavy rain is expected to batter Sheffield at the start of the week. On Monday, there will be highs of 9C and lows of 6C. Heavy showers are expected to last until 9pm in the evening, stopping briefly at around 7pm. Some sunny spells are expected in between showers. Wind gusts of up to 46 mph will make temperatures across the city feel cooler.

York

Heavy rain changed to cloudy in the afternoon, with maximum temperatures of 9C and lows of 6C. Unlike other parts of the region, showers are expected to stop by 2pm, remaining cloudy for the rest of the day. Wind gusts will be slightly less strong at 40 mph.

Bradford

Heavy rain changing to hail showers by late morning. There will be maximum temperatures of 8C in Bradford on Monday, with lows of 5C. Hail is expected at around 9am, with heavy showers lasting throughout the remainder of the day and into the evening. Again, wind gusts of up to 48 mph will make temperatures feel as cold as 2C.
