Despite recent weather being warm and a heatwave predicted later in July, North East voters would do well to pack an umbrella if they are planning on voting in person in Thursday.

Forecasts for the region predict showers in the afternoon, offering a potential bookend to a campaign that was called in the pouring rain.

Will you need a coat when you vote?

Here's the weather forecast for Darlington, Durham and Richmond for Thursday, July 4th:

Darlington:

Sunny in the morning, turning to light showers by lunchtime.

Temperatures will range from 11°C to 16°C.

High UV levels and low pollution.
