Meteor Flashes in South Dakota Sky

A meteor lit up the sky above Watertown in South Dakota in the early hours of Thursday, March 23, according to footage shared by police and local reports.

Footage captured by a Watertown Police Department camera shows the bright flash occurred at 3:12 am on Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Aberdeen said they received reports of the meteor from Watertown and other areas, including from Clear Lake and Bath, which are roughly 35 and 85 miles away, according to The Globe. Credit: Watertown SD Police Department via Storyful
