Michael Chiklis may be known for playing tough guy characters onscreen, but when it comes to talking about his eldest daughter's wedding he's not afraid to let his emotions show.

The 60-year-old The Shield alum revealed on Live with Kelly and Mark on Wednesday, June 5 that his eldest daughter Autumn, 30, is set to be married later this month. And as he explained, even the thought of it chokes him up.

"You guys are going to ruin my rep because I could cry right now talking about it," he said on the program, before adding that he "loves" her future husband.

According to the couple's official wedding website, Autumn is marrying actor Dor Gvirtsman on June 29, before the pair take off for a honeymoon in Aix-en-Provence, France.

"Adore him," Chiklis said. "He’s wonderful, he’s a beautiful guy. And they’ve been together for awhile. He was lovely — he called us and said, ‘I’m going to be out Saturday, can I come over and talk to you and Michelle [Morán]?’ And he came over and made us a beautiful dinner, and he asked us properly for her hand. True gentleman and of course we cried and it was lovely."

As he and his family have been preparing for the wedding, Chilkis — who is also dad to 25-year-old daughter Odessa with Morán — explained that he's "put more pre-production into this thing than any movie I’ve ever done."

"It’s just like, so much time and effort. It ends up being one night and we’ve been saying to the kids, ‘Keep your sense of humor, something’s bound to go wrong,' " he added.

After host Kelly Ripa jokingly asked if Autumn and her fiancé say that to him "since you have to pay," Chiklis joked that he's "numb at this point" in terms of the finances.

He also revealed that wedding planner Mindy Weiss is handling the specifics of the big day, during which the actor will share a father-daughter dance with Autumn, set to Phil Collins' "You'll Be in My Heart" from the Tarzan soundtrack.

"We’re rehearsing the 'daddy and me' dance," an emotional Chiklis said. "Oh you’ve got a clip. I’m dying. I’m crying right now... It’s happening to me right now. She’s just magnificent. You should see her in her gown. It’s just too much."

While Chiklis celebrated his "first day" of wedding dance rehearsals a few weeks ago, Autumn and Dor announced their engagement back in April 2023.

Since then, they celebrated the 10th anniversary of their relationship in October, when Autumn raved on Instagram about "a whole decade getting to love you, to laugh with you, to talk deep into the night with you… And somehow, only just the beginning."

"I love you, my darling. I always will. Here’s to running boldly and joyfully into the next 100. 💕"
