Michael Moore Calls Joe Biden’s Disastrous Debate the ‘Cruelest Form of Elder Abuse I’ve Ever Been Forced to Watch … He Was in Epic Distress’

Michael Moore said on a recent episode of his “Rumble” podcast that Joe Biden’s disastrous first debate against Donald Trump was “the cruelest form of elder abuse I’ve ever been forced to watch.” The Oscar-winning documentarian is joining the likes of Rob Reiner, Stephen King and other Hollywood Democrats in urging Biden to step down as the party’s 2024 nominee for president.

“If I have to be the only one to stand up for Joe Biden here, to protect him from the cruelest form of elder abuse I’ve ever been forced to watch, well then that’s what I’ll do,” Moore said. “He was in epic distress that Thursday night. Every cognitive default in his mind seemed to be shutting down. If this had been someone that you truly cared about, loved, embraced … what would you have done? Would you have seriously even let him go out on that stage? Who would send an 81-year-old onto any stage to debate a living monster at 9 at night for a brawl that would not end until 10:42 p.m.?”

“I don’t think we should be waiting until September or October to deal with this,” Moore continued. “We have to deal with this right now. This is not about whether he’s fit to serve another four years. After what we saw on debate night, this is about whether he should serve another four days in the toughest job in the world. That’s the question we should be asking. Leave Mr. Biden alone! Let him rest. Let him go home. He has done his job. Let him have his dignity. Please. Do him this favor.”

Calls for Biden to step down erupted after his first 2024 presidential debate against Donald Trump. Filmmaker, screenwriter and actor Rob Reiner recently posted a statement on X to his 2.3 million followers in which he said Biden’s exit is imperative considering democracy itself is at stake in this election.

“It’s time to stop fucking around,” Reiner wrote. “If the Convicted Felon wins, we lose our Democracy. Joe Biden has effectively served US with honor, decency, and dignity. It’s time for Joe Biden to step down.”

Stephen King also used social media to write: “Joe Biden has been a fine president, but it’s time for him — in the interests of the America he so clearly loves — to announce he will not run for re-election.”

During his interview with ABC News following the debate, Biden pushed back against his critics and stressed he currently has no intention of dropping out of the presidential race.
