Michael Mosley's wife breaks silence with touching message after his death

Dr Michael Mosley's wife has broken her social media silence - and in fitting style - after the death of her husband. Clare Bailey shared a touching tribute to the ITV regular who tragically passed away earlier this month.

Clare, who like her beloved late husband is a GP with an additional focus on nutrition and dietetics, took the opportunity to share a poignant message with her followers on her Instagram platform last Saturday. Her husband, she heartbreakingly revealed, had succumbed to heat exhaustion after being missing for four days on the Greek island of Symi.

Speaking to her followers, she voiced appreciation for their support through these unfortunate circumstances. Determined to honour his memory, the devoted wife expressed her intention to carry on their shared work that gave them both "so much joy" and "a sense of purpose."

She wrote: "Thank you all for your wonderfully supportive messages. The outpouring of love from so many people has meant a huge amount to me and my family. I'm going to be quiet for a while. I'm sure you will understand. But I will be back here soon. I very much want to continue with the work that gave Michael and myself so much joy and such a sense of purpose."

Appending to her heartfelt post, Clare let emotions flow as she thanked her followers for respecting their privacies during this challenging time and highlighted Michael's wonderful attributes: "Once more thank you so much for respecting my family's privacy so kindly. Michael was an amazing man. Thank you for seeing that too. We miss him so much.", reports the Mirror.

Clare was overwhelmed with messages of support, as one follower penned: "We are all here with you and for you and your family. He has changed our lives and will continue to do so. Thank you for sharing him with us for so long. Take all the time you need but please come back. We all need you too xxx."

Another added: "We loved your husband, you made a great team and completely understand what a loss this is for you and your family. Thank you to you both for everything you have done to promote good health."

Earlier in the month, Clare had alerted Greek authorities after her husband, the beloved TV doctor, failed to return from a walk. His absence stretched to four days until his body was found in a rugged area close to Agia Marina beach.

It was later confirmed that he passed away due to natural causes.

In a heartfelt statement at the time, Clare expressed: "I don't know quite where to begin with this. It's devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband. We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together. I am incredibly proud of our children, their resilience and support over the past days."

"My family and I have been hugely comforted by the outpouring of love from people from around the world. It's clear that Michael meant a huge amount to so many of you. We're taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it. He did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn't be easily seen by the extensive search team. Michael was an adventurous man, it's part of what made him so special."
