Michael Nicholson grilled by Celtic fan over Joe Hart successor before inviting him for PINT from his window

Michael Nicholson was grilled by a Celtic fan over the hunt for a new goalkeeper - before being offered a PINT.

The Hoops are still searching for the man between the sticks to replace Joe Hart after the former England international called time on his career at the end of the season. He signed off in the perfect fashion by adding another Scottish Cup winners medal to his Scottish Premiership success. While the 37-year-old has started going down a new career path in punditry as part of the Euro 2024 team, his old club are yet to bring his replacement on board.

A host of names have been linked with the role at Parkhead with Record Sport exclusively revealing that the Scottish champions plan to make another move for Sparta Prague keeper Peter Vindahl Jensen. The Danish keeper is amongst the top summer targets and they've been trying to convince the Czech side to do business but they are reluctant to sell and would want a fee in the excess of £8million.

Scott Bain started the two pre-season outings with Ayr United and Queen's Park with Benjamin Siegrist also making a rare appearance in the 6-4 win over the Spiders in Mount Florida last night. Brendan Rodgers' men are getting set to jet out to the USA to face DC United plus EPL big hitters Manchester City and Chelsea in the final preparations for the new campaign.

The fans are desperate to see a new recruit in the nets join the party for that one and one cheeky punter grabbed his opportunity from the WINDOW of a flat that overlooked Lesser Hampden - the venue for last night's thrilling ten goal encounter. A video online showed the supporter at his window before shouting down to Nicholson: "Michael? When you going to get a goalie mate?

Nicolson's response couldn't be heard but the people in the flat shared a laugh before the man who called down replied: "Do you want to come up for a pint?"
