Middlesbrough academy prospect Terrell Agyemany has made a positive start at Airdrieonians, scoring in his second appearance for the Scottish Championship side.

The Boro youngster is spending the season on loan at Airdrie and is hoping to gain experience from the playing in the Scottish second tier, following in the footsteps of team-mates such as Isaiah Jones, Sol Brynn and Zach Hemming who all enjoyed fruitful spells in the division in recent years.

Agyemang's early move is allowing the versatile midfielder time to settle in at his new club. And after impressing in his first 45-minute run out as Airdrie beat Albion Rovers 4-0, Agyemang then scored his first goal for his new club in a friendly with Crusaders in Northern Ireland. The Boro star's goal saw Airdrie leading at the interval as he left the field at that stage, with the Scottish side ultimately losing the game 3-2.

Speaking after completing his loan move to the North Lanarkshire club, Agyemang said: “It’s a new challenge so I’m really looking forward to it. Obviously I’ve heard about how Airdrie play and that attracted me a lot. I just want to come here and enjoy my football. The aim for the team is try and help win promotion, while personally I’m hoping to try and enjoy my football again by playing regularly.”

The 21-year-old midfielder, who can also play right-back, joined Boro's academy last summer after his release from Manchester City. He'd previously spent time in Charlton's academy too. Unable to break into the first-team on Teesside, however, he had two separate loan spells at Hartlepool United last term before his move north of the border for the upcoming campaign.
