Middlesbrough and Thornaby East general election results 2024 in full

Voters in the Middlesbrough and Thornaby East constituency have been going to the polls in the general election 2024 to choose their new MP.

The seat is the successor to the Middlesbrough constituency, subject to alignment of the boundaries to take account of a revised local authority ward structure. The new constituency includes the Stockton Council wards of Mandale and Victoria and Stainsby Hill.

Labour's Andy McDonald has held the seat since 2012 and is defending a 8,395 majority. Votes have been verified and counted at Middlesbrough Sports Village on Alan Peacock Way.

Polls closed in the general election 2024 at 10pm on Thursday, July 4, with counts taking place overnight. Results from across the UK are expected in the early hours of Friday morning, with Middlesbrough and Thornaby East expected to declare around 2.00am.

Patrick John Miles Seargeant - Reform UK: 7,046

Mo Waqas - Liberal Democrats: 1,037
