Midlothian Chinese restaurant to reopen just weeks after fire tore through building

A Midlothian Chinese restaurant is set to reopen just weeks after a devastating fire, with bosses thanking customers for their "unwavering support."

On Saturday, June 1, Beijing Banquet in Danderhall burst into flames with huge plumes of smoke seen rising from the building. It is understood the blaze started during the night before reigniting the following morning.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised five pump appliances to the scene and remained on site for several hours while they worked to extinguish the blaze.

However, staff took to Facebook once again on Monday, June 24, to announce the restaurant's reopening date on July 5 and thanked the "hard work and dedication" of their team
