Millie Bobby Brown Did Her Own Stunts 'from Start to Finish' in “Damsel”: 'Like the Female Version of Tom Cruise'
The actress said doing the "Tom Cruise–level stuff" for the film was "scary"
Millie Bobby Brown proudly performed her own stunt work in her fantasy-action film Damsel.
On The Drew Barrymore Show this week, the Stranger Things star, 20, discussed the Netflix film and pulling off "scary" stunts.
While filming, Brown said, "You're just like, ‘Are we really gonna, like, am I really gonna do that stunt?’ And then that day they're like, ‘Yep, put the harness on,’ and I just, like, did the stunt as if it wasn't, you know, Tom Cruise–level stuff. I felt like Tom Cruise."
Host Barrymore, 49, then said, "Tom Cruise is the coolest," referring to the actor, 61, who famously does the majority of his daring stunts, in movies like Mission: Impossible and Top Gun and more.

"So cool," agreed Brown. "In this film, I feel like the female version of Tom Cruise. I did all my own stunts from start to finish. And I'm really scared about doing my own stunts. Stunts are scary. ... You're just like, 'I'm not physically trained to do this.' "
Damsel also stars Robin Wright, Angela Bassett, Nick Robinson and Ray Winstone, with Shohreh Aghdashloo as the voice of a fire-breathing dragon.

Brown also told Barrymore about working with Bassett, whose 1993 film What's Love Got to Do with It? Brown's mom showed the young star early on.
"My mom was like, ‘Alright, you wanna be an actor? Sit down,' " recalled Brown of being shown the movie, for which Bassett earned an Oscar nomination.
"She's an amazing person, great presence. But she also, you know, to observe her and watch her work, you're just like, 'Wow, you've always been good,' " Brown added of Bassett, 65.
Damsel is on Netflix Friday.
