Millie Bobby Brown has made an emotional plea to fans to remember she is “a human being” after she was filmed by a stranger while out shopping.
The 16-year-old Stranger Things star posted a tearful video on her Instagram Stories revealing she had been approached while out Christmas shopping with her family by someone who asked if they could film her on their mobile phone.
Brown sobbed in the video, filmed in her car shortly after the event: “I'm still trying to navigate this all and it's still overwhelming.”

Explaining the encounter, the actor said: “She said, ‘Can I take a video of you?’
“I said, ‘Um, no.’ But why would anyone want to be taken a video of? Of me? It's not like of the both of us.”
Brown said the same person then approached her again and filmed her without her consent.
The child star said: “I was paying and she walked past me and began to video me again – and I said, ‘I'm a human being, like, what more can I ask from you?'
“She said, ‘So I can't take a video of a human being?’ And I said, ‘No, not when I said no.’ It just makes me upset when people try to push the boundary, and I just wish people were more respectful.
“You have to show more respect for others, no matter who they are, what they do – it's just manners.”
The Enola Homes star added in a later post that she was “totally fine now”, but that she had been “emotional in the moment because [she] felt uncomfortable and disrespected”.

The British actress – best known for playing telepathic Eleven in Netflix fantasy series Stranger Things – is currently living in America.
Last month Brown lost her grandmother Ruth to Alzheimer's disease.
Opening up about her grief on Instagram, she said: “There's no words that make sense right now, There's no feeling to pin point. Loss is something so complex and I go thru spells where I cant stop crying and then I laugh about all the memories and then sit quiet and try to comprehend what happened.”
