Milngavie fire attack murder: Police have 'definite' lead

Police in Scotland say they have a "definite line of enquiry" in relation to a New Year's Day fire attack that killed a man.

The development comes a fortnight after Cameron Logan, 23, died when his family home in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, was set ablaze.

His girlfriend, Rebecca Williams, was also injured in the attack and remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Mr Logan's mother and father were in the house at the time of the attack but managed to escape.

Police are treating the death of the 23-year-old as murder, and the attack on his parents and girlfriend as attempted murder.

In a statement, Police Scotland said: "We can confirm we are following a definite line of enquiry in relation to the investigation."

The apparent progress in the investigation comes just days after detectives were able to begin talking to Mr Logan's injured girlfriend as she recovers in hospital.

Cameron and Rebecca, 24, had attended a New Year party in the hours before the fatal fire.

They had walked home to Cameron's house and were inside when it was targeted at 7.25am.
