Milton police continue investigation into shooting incident

Apr. 19—MILTON — Police continue to investigate a shooting that occurred on Broadway Street in Milton.

Milton Police Chief Curt Zettlemoyer said officers will release additional details to the public when available. He said police are still reviewing the Tuesday incident.

Following the shooting, a borough man was arrested and jailed on $75,000 after officers said they discovered a weapon inside a Broadway Street apartment as part of their investigation, according to police.

Jose A. Rodriguez Lassalle, 27, of Broadway Street, was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a firearm with an altered manufacturer's number, police said. Lassalle was arraigned in front of Milton District Judge Mike Diehl.

Police located the weapon following a preliminary investigation, officials said.

Zettlemoyer said police were dispatched to the 10 block of Broadway Street for a report of a shooting. Officers were able to determine two individuals had been shot, Zettlemoyer said.

According to a criminal complaint, officers served a search warrant at Lassalle's apartment and discovered the weapon. The weapon, a 9mm Diamondback, was collected and logged into evidence, police said.

Zettlemoyer did not say if the weapon seized was used in the shooting, or if Lassalle was tied to the incident.

District Attorney Mike O'Donnell said there was no threat to the public.

Zettlemoyer said anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Milton police at 570-742-8757.
