Temperatures have soared in Kent this weekend, with today (May 12) set to be the hottest day of the year so far. Parts of the county bathed in highs of 25C on Saturday (May 11) and Sunday (May 12).

Those near the coast would have had the perfect beach days, with sunny skies and a little cloud cover here and there. Seaside towns have seen highs of around 21C, whereas those further inland revelled in temperatures of around 24C.

Although this balmy weather feels late to arrive, sadly it’s not here to stay for much longer. According to the Met Office, temperatures will dip to around 16C in some parts of the county in the coming days.
