Minnesota Authorities Warn Against Travel After Freezing Rain Coats Twin Cities in Ice

The city of Savage, Minnesota – a suburb of Minneapolis – cautioned against travel as the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area experienced icy conditions on Wednesday, January 11.

The National Weather Service said there had been numerous jackknifed trucks, spin-outs, and rollovers after freezing rain left an “icy glaze” on most surfaces.

Metro Transit reported it had suspended all bus service due to the icy road conditions.
